Tools & Material Required
  • Measuring tape
  • Hammer, stakes, line string
  • Hack saw, level, drill
  • Post hole digger
  • Concrete mixing tools
  • Phillips screw driver
  • Rubber Mallet
    •

 

  • Concrete

    • each 4x4 post requires one 80# bag
    each 5x5 post requires one 80# bag
    (See your style page for post size)
  • 1/2" diameter rebar
    2 pieces per end post: length of rebar is12" less
    than height of post (see your style page for total post height)

Installation Tips.
1. Position Posts 2. Attach Bottom Rail

  • Layout fence line.
  • Locate post positions.
  • Dig holes.
  • Place posts in holes.
  • Insert bottom rail in post
  • Concrete around posts.
  • Level bottom rail and square posts.
  • Allow concrete to set.
3. Insert Pickets/Attach Rails 4. Gates

  • Place pickets in rails.
  • Insert top rail in post.
  • Square pickets to post.
  • Lock top rail in place.
  • Build and install gate
  • Place rebar in gate posts and end posts.
  • Fill all gate and end posts with concrete.
  • Install post caps
Keys to Remember

Always check with local building authorities for any necessary permits, fence and pool codes.

Prior to digging holes, check with your utility companies for underground supply and power lines.

If you are installing your fence along a property line, you may want to have your property surveyed.
